A free ski bus connects you to the nearby Schönleiten lift valley station in the heart of Viehhofen. From there, you have easy access to the well-known Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski circuit. The heart of every skier beats a little faster when confronted with over 200 km of perfectly groomed powder snow pistes in all levels of difficulty, untouched off-piste powder runs and challenging moguls. The countless off-piste powder runs are a real attraction for snowboarders and freeriders. For beginners and mini skiers, there is a practice lift in Viehhofen itself. The lifts of the nearby Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski resort are open up to ten months of the year. In addition to snow-sure conditions in the form of the finest powder snow, glacier skiing is always a pretty special experience!

For fans of cross-country skiing, there is a 2 km trail in the village itself. If that is not enough, there is a varied and extensive network of trails leading to the neighbouring towns of Mittersill - Hochmoor, Saalbach-Hinterglemm - trail on the Reiterkogel, Zell am See, Saalfelden and Maishofen.
